One of the memories I have of my older brother is his pie. When he was in high school he would bake the most delicious pecan pies. I say that pecan is my favorite type of pie - but I've never tasted on as yummy as his. When I was a little older I found a recipe for a walnut pie in a magazine. I tried it and it was very good - reminded me a little of Kent's pecan pie. When I was gathering recipes for Thanksgiving I knew I had to have a nut pie. It didn't set up quite like it should (cook error) but it was still yummy. MMmmmm. so good.
INGREDIENTS:
3 eggs
1/4 t salt
3/4 c white sugar
2 t vanilla extract
3/4 c light corn syrup
1/4 c butter
1 deep dish pie crust
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Beat the eggs in a bowl. Mix in sugar, salt, vanilla, and syrup. Melt the butter or margarine, and add it to the egg mixture. Stir in the nuts. Pour filling into pie shell. Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 300 degrees and continue baking for 35 to 45 minutes.
I found this recipe on allrecipes. I really love this website for recipes.
